軸轂聯接的方式有鍵聯接、花鍵聯接、成形聯接、脹套聯接、銷聯接、緊定螺釘聯接、過盈聯接等，有些聯接方式僅用于軸轂聯接，有些聯接方式可兼作其它聯接。鍵和花鍵是常見的軸轂聯接方式。

Because of the shallow groove, the stress at the root of the tooth is small, and the strength of the shaft and hub is weakened less.

花鍵聯接按齒形的不同，可分為矩形花鍵和漸開線花鍵兩類，這兩類花鍵均已標準化。

矩形花鍵的定心方式為小徑定心，即外花鍵和內花鍵的小徑為配合面。其特點是定心精度高，定心的穩定性好，能用磨削的方法消除熱處理引起的變形。
